The Kansai HeliosGroup has expanded its production for paints and coatings at two sites - Helios Coatings Italia and Helios Coatings Germany - with twin-screw extruders from Coperion. Both in Riese Pio X, Italy, and in Buchholz, Germany, a ZSK Mv PLUS with a screw diameter of 43 mm was installed for the production of powder coatings. Kansai Helios has thus specifically opted for Coperion's twin-screw extruder technology, which is suitable for a wide range of formulations thanks to its very high dispersion performance.
With the two ZSK twin screw extruders, Kansai Helios is making a targeted investment in a technology that can also be configured very flexibly to meet future challenges. Both speed, residence time and throughput of the ZSK extruders can be quickly and individually adapted to the requirements of new powder coating formulations.
