Thermal spraying
Thermal spraying is a process by which metallic or ceramic materials can be applied to a substrate. In this process, the coating material in powder form is heated by various processes and brought to such a high speed that it builds up a high adhesive strength to the base material on impact. The applied materials allow thermal spray coatings to be functionally optimized very well, for example in the direction of corrosion or wear protection. Thermal barrier coatings are also possible. This opens up a wide range of applications from repair coatings to aircraft engine construction.
