The industry is increasingly focusing on the use of AI for simulation, testing, product development and to optimize processes. For example, the English company Monolith AI offers a solution in which AI can be used to further develop a model simultaneously with each simulation. The AI also makes suggestions to the developer about the product based on the real-time data. This is expected to reduce development time by up to 50 percent in the future. Festo will be showing its developments for reinforcement learning for manufacturing processes at the trade fair. And control system provider Siemens is focusing on providing models for machine learning as part of ML Ops.
Other examples on the topic of AI tools and use cases include the Cell-Line Control System from Omrom, vision solutions from Beckhoff and the DXQanalyze product family from Dürr. The latter enables comprehensive logging of all process data to detect product quality defects or equipment wear in real time. To do this, the system uses condensed data at a higher level.
