"Matt paintwork is not only becoming more and more popular, it also has an increasing number of gloss levels. The first matt paint finishes from vehicle manufacturers had a semi-matt or semi-gloss appearance. Today, however, the trend is towards finishes with much lower gloss levels," explains Frank Barduna, Training Manager Axalta Refinish Systems Germany.
The new Permacron Matt clearcoat system allows refinishers to work more easily and achieve high-quality matt finishes every time. It comprises Permacron Matt System Clear 8185 and Permacron Silk Gloss System Clear 8170, which can be mixed together to achieve high-quality original matt finishes in all gloss levels. In addition, the new system offers very good drying properties comparable to traditional clear coats as well as a uniform and consistent final appearance.
