B&R Automation is relocating its German headquarters from Bad Homburg to Friedberg, the location of ABB's Robotics division. This enables a better transfer of knowledge and improved cooperation.

B&R Industrie-Elektronik GmbH has moved its German headquarters from Bad Homburg to Friedberg in Hesse, where ABB's Robotics division is based in Germany. The spatial merger of the two divisions, which form ABB's Robotics and Factory Automation business unit, is intended to enable greater synergies in the future and leverage potential for flexible automation for customers in a wide range of industries.

With the relocation of B&R Automation, the ABB site in Friedberg will employ a total of around 650 people. The Technology Center in Friedberg will be redesigned to enable visitors and customers to experience the innovations in robotics, automation, software and service. In the future, current developments, future concepts and industry-specific solutions from the divisions will be on display on around 1,000 square meters. These include collaborative applications with ABB's GoFaTM and SWIFTITM cobots, scalable and flexible robot cells for manufacturing and logistics as well as innovations for adaptive manufacturing.
