More than 130 guests from Germany and abroad were welcomed by the newly elected chairman of the association, Friedhelm U. Scholten, at the Haus der Kunst in Munich. During a festive dinner, the fashion project "stories of surfaces - 60 years of surface finishing of aluminum in fashion images" was presented, which the VOA had implemented together with the AMD Akademie Mode & Design.
The presentation was moderated by Patricia Riekel, fashion expert and former editor-in-chief of the magazine "Die Bunte". She explained the fashion accents of the past 60 years shown on stage as well as the association`s milestones. It became tangibly clear what surface finishing can achieve in terms of feel, quality and colorfulness. And it was also clear that the surface finishing industry has always managed to overcome difficult times together and continued to develop. This secret of success still applies today: The VOA and its member companies will master the global challenges together in their network.
