Friedhelm U. Scholten studied physics at the Technical University of Braunschweig. After many years in the field of surface technology, he and his wife acquired AnodiTec Oberflächentechnik GmbH in 2000, which later became the AnodiTec company with plants in Hamburg and Sontra. After handing over the management of the company to his son, Scholten continues to serve as technical director. He is primarily committed to outstanding product quality, continuous further development and first-class service. Participants in the VOA's highly sought-after anodizing seminar, which he has led for many years, also benefit from his expertise.
Vice chairmen of the board are the previous chairman Michale Owald (Alutecta GmbH & Co. KG), who has led the VOA since 2011, and Thomas Engel (Kühl Eloxal GmbH). The new board aims to guide the surface finishing industry safely and well through the current challenging times. For the next four years, the following board members will also champion the interests of the surface finishing industry: Dr. Thomas Becker (Eloxal Gerlingen GmbH), Michael Gotta (elox Gerhard Gotta GmbH & Co. KG), Sven Höfler (Eloxal Höfler GmbH), Hans Saul (ekka Entlackung Ernst Kuper GmbH), Georg Schwab (Eloxal-Pühl GmbH), Christoph Wahl (HD Wahl GmbH) and the members delegated from Aluminium Deutschland e. V. Michael Boche (apt Extrusions GmbH & Co. KG) and Norbert-William Sucke (Erbslöh Aluminium GmbH). Auditor Gudrun Wassermann, Eloxal Müller GmbH, stood for re-election at the general meeting and remains in office.
