With the V4 Purple Power abrasive flap disc, Lukas-Erzett is launching a tool that combines high stock removal rates with a long service life. With its self-sharpening ceramic grain, it is particularly suitable for robot systems.

With the V4 Purple Power abrasive flap disc, Lukas-Erzett is expanding its iQ series with a tool designed for maximum removal rate and efficiency. The combination of ceramic high-performance abrasive grain, special flap geometry and stable steel backing plate enables a consistently high abrasive performance - even on materials such as stainless steel, cast iron, titanium or hardened steel. The self-sharpening grain structure continuously releases new cutting edges, which keeps the stock removal rate constant over the entire service life.

Robust design for robot use

The design of the abrasive flap disc is tailored to continuous industrial use. The flaps are arranged in Lukas' characteristic sickle flap shape, which promotes even wear and optimum adaptation to the workpiece surface. The robust steel backing plate ensures stability at high speeds and in automated applications. Thanks to the heat-resistant resin bonding, process reliability is maintained even under thermal stress.

Practical example with documented performance

In a documented robot application, a 125 mm diameter V4 Purple Power abrasive flap disc removed around 23 kilograms of steel within 5.5 hours - a removal rate of over four kilograms per hour. The tool therefore significantly outperformed conventional flap discs and contributed to a reduction in tool changes and downtimes.
