Lola Cars and Surventis have entered into a partnership for the T70S program. For this limited-edition reinterpretation of the historic T70 race car—limited to 16 vehicles—Surventis is supplying the Glasurit paint system as the official partner for paints and coatings. The vehicles will be offered as the T70S for track use and as the street-legal T70S GT.
A water-based Glasurit coating system for composite components and metal parts will be used. The system includes primers, fillers, basecoats, and clear coats. It is based on the Glasurit 100 Line, which was selected for the project due to its color accuracy, surface quality, and efficient application.
Coating for Composites and Metal
Both vehicle variants use the Lola Natural Composite System (LNCS), a patent-pending body material free of petrochemical components. It combines natural fibers with a plant-based resin. Surventis’ coating solution is thus part of an overall concept that aligns material selection and manufacturing processes to minimize environmental impact.
The collaboration also includes training on advanced application processes and spray technologies. This is intended to reduce material usage and make the application process more time-efficient. Mike Strydom, Technical Manager at Surventis Coatings Services UK, says: “With the Glasurit 100 Line, the T70S program benefits from a coating system that combines premium surface quality with measurable sustainability benefits.” For Lola and its customers, this means high color precision, durable finishes, and efficient application processes with lower material consumption.
Limited Series of the T70
The T70S program comprises a total of 16 vehicles. The T70S is designed as a competition car with an FIA Historic Technical Passport and is rated at 530 bhp with a top speed of 203 mph. The T70S GT is approved for road use in the United Kingdom, delivers 500 bhp, and reaches 200 mph. According to Lola Cars, the GT version is based on the technical foundation of the race car and incorporates modifications for use on both the road and the racetrack.
Matt Faulks, Executive Innovation Director at Lola Cars, describes the collaboration as part of a development approach that combines historical authenticity with modern manufacturing: “Our collaboration with Surventis is an example of how we combine historical accuracy with advanced manufacturing processes and sustainable materials in the T70S program.”
Surventis, formerly BASF Coatings, operates in the fields of surface technology and automotive refinishing with brands such as Chemetall, Glasurit, and R-M. The company is headquartered in Münster and generated revenue of approximately 3.9 billion euros in 2025.
