On the occasion of its anniversary, KIT invites you to take part in a varied program throughout the year under the motto "We shape the future. Research | Teaching | Transfer", KIT invites you to a varied program throughout the year. This program includes exhibitions, festive and dialog events, tours and multimedia experiences. The anniversary year brings the history of KIT to life and offers numerous opportunities to take a look into the future, which KIT researchers and students help to shape every day.
Extensive program throughout the year
The highlights of the program are:
- January 6, 2025: New Year's concert by the KIT Philharmonic Orchestra to open the anniversary year with symbolic hoisting of the anniversary flag in front of the Audimax.
- March 28, 2025 to October 19, 2025: Anniversary exhibition "200 Years of KIT - 100 Objects. Parts of the whole. Selected objects from the history of KIT."
- May 17, 2025: Open Day and Campus Day at Campus South and opening of the Karlsruhe Science Festival EFFEKTE.
- July 4, 2025: Lights illuminate the night sky over Karlsruhe at the end of the "Dîner au KIT", where employees and students eat and celebrate together at a table hundreds of meters long across the entire South Campus.
- July 11, 2025 to October 19, 2025: "Art | Summer | Technology". Exhibitions, workshops, lectures and discussions in collaboration with the City of Karlsruhe, the ZKM and galleries, institutions and art and project spaces.
- October 14 to October 19, 2025: KIT Science Week "City of the Future".
- From August 15, 2025: The motto of the Schlosslichtspiele follows the 200th anniversary of KIT.
- November 8, 2025: "THE BALL. We celebrate the KIT". Together with the City of Karlsruhe and other partners, KIT organizes a high-class ball in the Schwarzwald- und Gartenhalle.
