At the beginning of December, the contract to acquire the web coatings business of the Beckers Group, Becker Industrie SAS (France), was signed. Kansai Helios thus owns all of Beckers' business assets in the field of web coatings, such as formulations, web approvals and the customer database (with the exception of customers from India and China). As part of this transaction, Kansai Helios will establish a new and first subsidiary in France, Kansai Helios France SAS. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2023. This acquisition is a major step for Kansai Helios to further strengthen its competitive position in the field of web coatings in Europe and worldwide.
"For Kansai Helios, the development and production of web coatings has always been of great importance and in recent years we have built a strong market position as the largest manufacturer of web coatings in Europe with important brands such as Wefa, Rembrandtin and Helios," said Dietmar Jost, managing director of Kansai Helios Group. Beckers Group has a wide range of industrial coatings for the protection of rail vehicles. In addition to the solvent-based range, the company also offers a water-based range.
