Evonik Coating Additives reduces the CO2 footprint by using ISCC-certified raw materials and replacing fossil raw materials with renewable, mass-balanced alternatives. Through the mass balance approach, biologically or recycled raw materials are precisely allocated to the products. This provides a transparent way of reducing the consumption of fossil raw materials in coating applications. The product portfolio so far includes the wetting agent Tego Wet 270 eCO and the defoamer Tego Foamex 812 eCO. The suffix "eCO" stands for "eliminate CO2" (CO2 reduction).
Versatile wetting agent
Tego Wet 270 eCO is a versatile wetting agent with a biocarbon content of over 40 percent. It ensures optimum wetting and prevents cratering in a wide range of coatings - from water-based to solvent-based and radiation-curing systems. Thanks to its compliance with food contact regulations, it is also suitable for particularly demanding applications.
High biocarbon content
Tego Foamex 812 eCO contains more than 60 percent renewable biocarbon and offers highly effective defoaming in clear and pigmented formulations. The product complies with current eco-label requirements and enables sustainable production with reduced environmental impact.
