Renewable raw materials based on corn
Rhamnolipids are produced in a biotechnological process from renewable raw materials based on corn. The biosurfactant is efficient, toxicologically harmless and biodegradable. Rhamnolipids are increasingly in demand as an alternative to surfactants made from fossil raw materials or tropical oils.
Products with sustainability benefits
Evonik plans to invest more than three billion euros in products with superior sustainability benefits by 2030. These so-called "next generation solutions" also include biosurfactants, which are used in various industries. The company is building a technology platform for their production and development.
