The EcoProBooth from Dürr in combination with the EcoBell4 Pro generation makes it possible to paint car bodies inside and outside in the same booth with solvent or water-based paints. The universal atomizer applies narrow spray jets for interior painting, wide spray jets for the outer skin and metallic applications. The conveying time from one booth to the next is eliminated.
Built-in service for the robots
By distributing the tasks, the inactive robots can be cleaned or serviced while production continues. For this purpose, so-called service cubicles are integrated in each corner of the booth, which the robots can access. The concept developed by Dürr convinced an independent jury of experts and received the PACE Pilot Award from the American journal Automotive News in Detroit on April 15.
High energy efficiency for the painting process
With EcoProBooth, the painting boxes are arranged in a parallel production layout instead of a conventional linear layout with fixed cycle times. This enables flexible cycle times and high efficiency. EcoProBooth achieves an air recirculation rate of 95% and requires only 5% fresh air, which minimizes energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Overall, energy consumption is reduced by up to 80% compared to wet separation in classic lines and by 45% compared to conventional dry separation.
