Dörken's Industrial Coatings division once again hosted the Dörken Days in 2025. Trade representatives from Europe, the USA and Asia used the event to discuss current developments in surface technology and related industries. Tobias Kleyer, Technology & Networking Manager at Dörken, led the program. Managing Director Christos Tselebidis opened the event. He emphasized the importance of cooperation and dialogue in a changing industrial environment.
PFAS in the focus of the presentations
A central focus of the program was the topic of PFAS. After a review of previous content, Christos Tselebidis and Omar Sawani introduced the thematic block, which was moderated by Dörken expert Sabrina Hilbt. Guest contributions from the industry highlighted different perspectives along the supply chain, with Dr. Pellkofer from Daimler Truck AG presenting the path to PFAS-free fasteners and explaining a new specification that provides for a clear demarcation from Mercedes-Benz. Sine Groenne Karlsen from Siemens Gamesa demonstrated the importance of PFAS-free products for the regulatory conformity of future wind turbines.
A panel discussion with representatives from Daimler Truck, Siemens Gamesa, Agrati and Galfa addressed the practical challenges of switching to PFAS-free solutions.
Technologies for corrosion protection
Other program items were dedicated to new technical approaches. Florian Feldmann (Dörken) and Dr. Clara Linder from the RISE Institute presented current research projects on corrosion. In addition, Olav Schulz (Slcr Lasertechnik) and Christian Rabe (Dörken) presented a laser-specific process for the pre-treatment of bulk material for subsequent coatings. Finally, regional managers from overseas reported on market developments in their regions. The event ended with a networking session.
