At the heart of the innovation competition is a scientific selection process that participants undergo. Innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and his team evaluated Mankiewicz on the basis of more than 100 innovation indicators from five categories: Top Management Promoting Innovation, Innovation Climate, Innovative Processes and Organization, External Orientation and Innovation Success. In principle, the TOP 100 analysis is concerned with the question of whether a company's innovations are just a product of chance or are systematically planned and thus repeatable in the future.
Mankiewicz has been developing and producing high-performance industrial coatings since 1895. The global employer has made a name for itself primarily with high-quality coating systems for the automotive, aviation and numerous general industry markets. With more than 1,500 employees at 17 locations, Mankiewicz is a global player in the industry - and yet it is still a medium-sized company with tradition that constantly rethinks the topic of coating innovations.
