The competition, sponsored by VDMA "Startup-Machine" and the trade journal "Produktion", recognizes young companies that contribute to innovation in mechanical engineering with ideas for biological transformation. The focus is on the areas of biointelligence, bioinformatics, biotechnology, bioeconomy and bionics.
The nominated start-ups were able to present themselves in an exclusive pitch competition in front of around 800 decision-makers from the German mechanical and plant engineering industry. Surfunction presented its ELIPSYS technology platform and explained how it contributes to the biological transformation in mechanical and plant engineering.
