Dr. Christof Langer from FEM will discuss the challenges associated with assessing the alloy composition of recycled aluminum substrates and report on approaches to developing improved pretreatment to make these problems with recycled substrates more manageable.

The corrosivity category of a component's environment plays an enormous role in the durability of a coating. Conversely, the corrosiveness of the environment must be taken into account with pre-treatment and coating.Chris Herrmann made it clear that the official corrosiveness maps are sometimes not up to date and that local peculiarities sometimes have a major influence.
Digitalization as an important topic of the symposium
Dr Nils Reinke from Coatmaster and Reiner Grupber from Surface Solutions agree that digitalization and artificial intelligence are increasingly finding their way into the powder industry. In this interview, they discuss current developments in this area and how the powder industry is dealing with them.
