Automated painting processes are gaining importance in light of a shortage of skilled workers, rising costs, and growing demands for process reliability. Sehon is therefore showcasing what AI-supported robotic painting is already capable of today in its own series of events. After five workshops, Timo Sehon draws a positive interim conclusion in an interview with mo – Magazine for Surface Technology: Many participants initially arrived with a certain degree of skepticism and were particularly surprised by the quality of touch-up painting and the ability to match paint shades.
In the video, Sehon also explains the role software plays in further development, where cost-saving potential lies in paint materials and refinish, and how the painting robot can reduce the workload on employees. At the same time, the discussion touches on topics that are often overlooked when introducing automated painting technology: integration into existing or new paint booths, CE compliance, legal requirements, and the necessary guidance and support from a properly trained team.
