Until now, the difficulty for industry and users in creating high-quality material cycles in the sense of the Circular Economy has been the lack of data on the circular properties of a product. As a member of the Circularity Stakeholder Group, surface specialist Zinq was involved in the creation of a so-called Product Circularity Data Sheet (PCDS) - and is now also one of the first users: with immediate effect, Zinq is making such a PCDS available to interested customers for its microZINQ, duroZINQ and colorZINQ products on request.
"The PCDS is an important component in creating transparency within supply chains and thus closing material loops," says Dr. Thomas Pinger, Innovation and Sustainability Manager at Zinq. The PCDS includes information on ingredients, the percentage of recycled materials, and reparability, disassemblability and recyclability. The Product Circularity Data Sheets will be used to make the data available in a decentralized manner. The general structure of the PCDS system is inspired by the Material Safety Data Sheet system.
