Business operations are still running without restrictions: On December 8, 2021, Wieland Anlagen- und Apparatebau GmbH had filed for insolvency proceedings. Lawyer Dr. Jürgen Erbe of Schultze & Braun was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator: "The aim is to eliminate the company's economic imbalance and to put Wieland back on a stable footing for the future. I am confident that this can be achieved."
Wieland is a manufacturer of painting and powder coating equipment with 32 employees. The increasing shortage of skilled workers made it increasingly difficult for Wieland to replace employees. In some cases, this led to longer lead times for projects and additional costs. Added to this were difficulties in material supply and massively increased costs for materials, transport and energy. These costs could not be passed on directly to customers and weighed on the company's liquidity. The company most recently generated sales of around 3.5 million euros a year. For a successful turnaround, the entry of an investor is necessary to support the company with fresh money.
