In the latest installment of VdL's Green Deal event series, there was an update on the chemicals strategy and its impact on product safety. Previous webinars had so far highlighted key elements such as the new circular economy action plan, the chemicals strategy for sustainability, and the climate protection and taxonomy packages. Florian Ritz, Product Safety Officer, German Chemical Industry Association (VCI), gave an overview of the upcoming CLP revision and explained the innovations planned by the EU Commission.
Aline Rommert, Technical Officer at VdL for the topics of product safety, chemicals law, nanotechnology and safety data sheets, showed the effects of the chemicals strategy on the coatings and printing inks industry. Finally, Marco Borgmann, Group Manager Product Safety at Follmann Chemie, clarified what manufacturers of coatings and inks will have to prepare for in the coming years. He appealed to deal with the requirements at an early stage. The web seminar was moderated by the VdL's Green Deal expert Lucas Schmidt-Weihrich.
