The Board of Directors of Atlas Copco AB, based in Nacka, Sweden, has appointed Vagner Rego as President and CEO of the Group. Rego succeeds Mats Rahmström, who has successfully led Atlas Copco since 2017 and is leaving the company at his own request.
Head of the Compression Technology Division since 2017
Vagner Rego started his career at Atlas Copco in 1996 in his home country of Brazil. He is currently one of Rahmström's four deputies on the Executive Board of the listed company. He has also been Head of the Compressor Technology Division since 2017. "In this role, Vagner Rego has successfully led and developed the division," said Hans Stråberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors. "We are certain that with his extraordinary experience and broad understanding of technology, he will drive the Group forward and further increase the productivity of our industrial customers."
Career in Brazil
Vagner Rego started his career at Atlas Copco in Brazil as an engineer. In 2006, he took over the management of the Service division in the Compressor Technology business area in Brazil. In 2010, Rego moved to the Compression Technology headquarters in Belgium, from where he was responsible for the global success of the Compression Technology Service division as Head of Marketing and Sales and later as President. In the meantime, he also managed the business of the Power Technique customer center in Brazil.
