When aromatic solvents cannot be used, Trapylene 118 S is the agent of choice. The new adhesion promoter system offers several advantages.

Tramaco GmbH, a manufacturer of primer, adhesion promoter and blowing agent systems, announces the introduction of the development product Trapylen 118 S. This adhesion promoter was specifically developed to optimize adhesion to polyolefin plastics, particularly in applications where the use of aromatic solvents must be avoided.

Trapylene 118 S forms a clear, transparent film on the substrate that allows good adhesion between the plastic surface and subsequent layers such as coatings, adhesives or printing inks. It is a chemically modified, crosslinkable polypropylene that presents itself in the form of a light yellow granulate. The properties of this product are a chlorine content of 35% and a viscosity (dyn.) of about 1200 mPas (35%-acetic in acetone/n-butyl acetate 50:50). The softening point is at a temperature of 75 °C.
