A new handheld spectrometer from Spectro Analytical Instruments for the on-site analysis of metals and alloys is now available. With higher measuring speed and improved ergonomics, it makes work easier in production, in the foundry or on the scrap yard.

Spectro Analytical Instruments introduces a new generation of handheld spectrometers. The Spectro xSORT XRF offers improved features that increase measurement speed, convenience and performance when analyzing metals and alloys.

Suitable for all common metals and alloys

The new Spectro xSORT handheld spectrometers can spectrochemically analyze common metals and alloys - 46 elements in 16 metal matrices - with high throughput. Possible fields of application include quality control in production or in foundries, as well as use in scrap yards.

Analysis in just a few seconds

The most important feature of the new Spectro xSORT analyzers is the speed of analysis. The entry-level model Spectro xSORT Alloy with silicon PIN detector (Si-PIN) enables metals to be identified in a matter of seconds. The more powerful standard Spectro xSORT with high-resolution, highly sensitive silicon drift detector (SDD) analyzes most alloys in two seconds and identifies light metal alloys in seven seconds. The result is hundreds of tests per shift and therefore higher productivity.

Easier operation

The small and well-balanced SPECTRO xSORT is optimized for fatigue-free, one-handed operation throughout the day. It also offers high analytical flexibility with two standard spot sizes.
