The effect pigment manufacturer Eckart has entered into a joint venture agreement with the Indian company Runaya. Runaya specializes in sustainable production methods. The joint venture is building a new plant in Orissa, India, for the production of sustainable spherical atomized aluminium granules. Demand for these products is very high in India and on the global markets. The granules are used in high-end aerospace applications, solar panels and high-quality effect pigments.
Recycled aluminum
The joint venture will use recycled aluminum and energy from renewable sources for its production. These will mainly be sold on the Indian market. Runaya and Eckart have also signed a memorandum of understanding for the production of high-quality aluminum pigments. Runaya says it is aiming for a circular economy. Naivedya Agarwal, Managing Director and co-founder of Runaya, said: "This partnership demonstrates the power of global partnerships in tackling environmental challenges."
