The recent revision of DIN 12944 and also AMPP allows new corrosion protection colors and offers more freedom in formulation. With the new zinc flake pigment ProFlake Zn 3000, Eckart offers a product solution that allows a significantly lower zinc content in the formulation - a key to more sustainable corrosion protection formulations, including a significantly reducedCO2 footprint compared to currently used corrosion protection paints.
Percolation between zinc flakes and additional barrier formation provide ideal corrosion protection and offer a clear advantage over zinc dust. Further technical advantages are the easy handling and applicationof paints based on ProFlake Zn 3000, as well as their low settling behavior. The new pigment with a particle size of 31 µm (D50) is suitable, among other things, for coatings in marine, shipbuilding or bridge construction.
