The ECHA was commissioned by the EU Commission to draw up draft restrictions for chromium trioxide. The aim is to remove chromium trioxide from the authorization requirement (REACH Annex XIV) and restrict it instead (REACH Annex XVII). As a first step, stakeholders have until February 13, 2024 to submit information to ECHA. A call for evidence has been set up for this purpose.

In the ZVO online dialogue, Dr. Malte-Matthias Zimmer, ZVO Head of Environmental and Chemicals Policy, informed the 37 participants about the content and objectives of this regulatory measure. He guided them through the multi-page online submission form, made recommendations for processing and answered questions. The ZVO recommends taking part in the call for evidence, whereby companies should limit themselves to providing concrete, reliable data and information.
