With the aNIR drying technology, the speed of an HP inkjet printing press could be increased by 185%. The company can therefore significantly expand its production capacity.

A North American company integrated Adphos' aNIR drying technology into two of its HP PageWide T250 HD inkjet presses. A further four systems had already been installed. Tests had shown that when applying high-gloss substrates at speeds of over 50 meters per minute using conventional methods, the ink was deposited on the take-up roll. This could be avoided with the aNIR drying technology.

Virtually no waiting times

The production speed increased by 185% to a maximum printing speed of ≥ 150 meters per minute. The adphos aNIR drying also eliminates waiting times and ensures that the system is always ready for operation.

Less waste andoptimized further processing

Fast drying prevents moisture residues that cause the ink to set. This can significantly reduce waste. Flatter substrates mean fewer interruptions and faster inline/nearline finishing, minimizing problems such as rippling and warping. Other benefits include optimized energy usage and improved print quality:Fast drying improves ink adhesion to the paper surface, allowing the machine to produce consistently brilliant, high-quality prints.

New substrate options

aNIR drying technology offers print shops expanded possibilities, as more cost-effective, high-gloss substrates can be used. This opens up a wider range of applications. Adphos has already successfully integrated production-enhancing and quality-maximizing aNIR drying technologies into printing presses from other manufacturers.
