With the PU Primer 114, Dörken is expanding the Lucite range with a primer that also adheres to critical substrates and dries within four hours.

Dörken is launching Lucite 114 PU Primer, a new primer for professional surface preparation. The primer is intended for interior and exterior applications and, according to the manufacturer, adheres to a wide range of standard construction site substrates. These include stable old coatings, non-ferrous metals, galvanized steel, wood and various plastics.

In addition, the PU primer is also designed for surfaces that are considered critical, such as KTL-coated frames, coil-coating substrates and powder and melamine resin coatings. It serves as an adhesion primer for water-based acrylic, acrylic PU and 2K PU paints as well as for solvent-based alkyd resin paints.

Adhesion, insulating effect and fast drying

In addition to providing adhesion, the Lucite 114 PU primer has a barrier effect against water-soluble wood constituents and can reduce the penetration of rust. The primer therefore supports an even and stable subsequent coating.

Another aspect is the comparatively short drying time. According to the manufacturer, the primer can be recoated after around four hours, even with intensive colors. A drying time of around 16 hours is recommended for a complete insulating effect. This enables rapid work progress with defined processing steps.

Supplement for substrate preparation

With the Lucite 114 PU primer, Dörken vor is primarily targeting users in the trade who are frequently confronted with changing or demanding substrates. The primer is designed as a universally applicable solution for the preparation of various coating tasks.
