The company places particular emphasis on the efficient use of energy in its planning. Heating and cooling are to be powered entirely by heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. "We want to equip the new building with future-proof heat recovery and be able to cover 100 percent of the new building's energy needs from renewable sources," says BYK division manager Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch. Sustainable materials will be used throughout the project.
Completion expected in 2028
An old laboratory building is to make way for the building with a total area of 5,100 square meters so that it can be fully integrated into the existing buildings on the BYK campus in Wesel. In future, customer events and customer seminars will be held on a separate floor. The construction costs for the building complex amount to around 25 million euros and the construction period is expected to be four years. Completion is planned for the second quarter of 2028. Dr. Jörg Hinnerwisch: "BYK is networked with its customers worldwide and this laboratory complex will create space for effective communication as well as room for development and collaboration with our customers and distributors."
