Messe München will be staging two of its leading trade fairs together in the future: Starting in 2023, automatica will switch to odd-numbered years and will then be held in parallel with Laser World of Photonics. This means that automatica will be back at the start as early as next year. Both leading world trade fairs will be held together for the first time from June 27 to 30 and then in a two-year cycle.
According to the trade fair organizers, the decision is also logical because the exhibition focuses of both trade fairs complement each other. Lasers for welding, cutting, marking and detection have become indispensable in highly automated manufacturing. Robotics, on the other hand, requires optical and laser-based image processing. At the same time, many laser applications only show their economic strength thanks to the combination with robots.
