The transformation of woodworking, accelerated by the pandemic, is the focus topic of the upcoming LIGNA. Prefabrication processes in wood construction and process technologies of the bioeconomy will also be highlighted.

With the focus topics Transformation of Woodworking, Prefabrication Processes in Wood Construction and Process Technologies of the Bioeconomy, the organizers of LIGNA are addressing current industry developments. The topics will be presented both in the exhibition area and accompanied by additional formats. "After consulting the market, we and our partner VDMA have decided to continue the focus topics originally planned for LIGNA 2021, which was cancelled due to the pandemic, at LIGNA 2023," explains Stephanie Wagner, LIGNA Project Manager. "We're looking forward to finally bringing the themes to life live on site in Hannover together with our exhibitors."

From craft businesses to industrial corporations, from products to individual solutions - digitalization has long since found its way into all areas of the wood industry and is fundamentally changing companies' business models and processes. The Corona pandemic has accelerated this development even further. With the networking of machines, human-machine interaction, IoT platforms, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or augmented and virtual reality, current and future developments in digitalization along the entire value chain will be addressed at LIGNA 2023. In addition, topics such as wood flow control, robotics, logistics, standardization, surface processing and cloud-based data management will be addressed.
