Bonding technology from Feintool for tight electric motors

Feintool has developed a new bonding process for electric motors. The tightness against cooling liquids can thus be greatly increased, as can the tolerance against high temperatures.

In industry and the automotive sector, performance increases are often achieved by modern grades of electrical sheet. At the same time, the sheet thickness is reduced, as this allows electrical efficiency to be increased. In the area of joining methods, market analyses show a trend toward bonding the laminates. This can increase performance and reduce losses in the motor. Feintool offers glulock MD, a unique joining technology that remains stable evenat high temperatures.

Compared to conventional stacking methods, glulock shows a significant improvement in stacking tolerances in terms of parallelism, shape accuracy, concentricity and length tolerance. Noise generation and eddy current losses are also reduced. The packaging of thin sheets (0.1 mm) can also be realized with glulock. In this process, several glue dots are placed on the sheet in such a way as to ensure almost full-surface bonding. The bonding on the yoke and tooth ensures stability. Tests have already confirmed the required tightness.
