A contract coater is going its own, digitized way and is also demonstrating a coherent concept for the future of sophisticated hand electroplated coatings in the age of digitization at its soon-to-be-opened new site.

At the end of spring 2023, Jentner plans to start up a new production site for the electroplating of high-tech products. The new site will be used to coat high-quality rack goods for customers in the medical technology, aerospace and defense industries. The quality and documentation requirements of these customers are high. The Pforzheim-based company has developed its own Digital Lifecycle Plating system for digitalization in handgalvanic coating. All system parameters such as current, voltage, circulation, pH and conductivity values as well as bath temperatures are recorded. In addition, all environmental conditions are logged.

The electroplating plant at the new location is already in place. An automatic quality analysis cell is planned, in which a cobot positions coated products under a camera and intelligent algorithms can both detect coating defects and make a statement as to whether these could possibly be due to defects in the supplied product, such as burrs or discoloration.
