Holzapfel: Paint stripping with new laser process

The Holzapfel Group offers a new laser process for removing paint selectively and over a wide area. Conductive areas for e-mobility can be gently removed in this way.

There are applications in which KTL-coated components require a coating-free (paint-free) area. This may be the case, for example, if the base material must be electrically conductive. The Holzapfel Group can remove organic layers such as KTL over a wide area, but also selectively, by means of a new laser technology process. Process-safe removal of the top layer is possible even on complex components, in recesses or in interior areas.

The laser beam removes the top layer with contour accuracy and repeatability without affecting the underlying base material. Individual layers can be removed or all layers down to the substrate. Cathodic dip coated components can be labeled in this way, provided with a logo or marking. The only important thing is that the areas to be processed allow direct incidence of light.
