The new Unicell HMS product range by Tramaco GmbH comprises expanded acrylate copolymer microspheres. With particle sizes of 20, 50 and 100 micrometers, these hollow microspheres offer good properties for a wide range of applications. In interior paints, the addition of Unicell HMS A20WI can improve the properties of water-based acrylate or styrene-acrylate paints. The result is thermally insulating paints with very good elastic and antibacterial properties and a low density of around 140 kg/m³.
To formulate exterior paints with similar advantages, addition levels of 5-8 % are recommended. The improved elasticity enables a flexible coating that can better withstand movement and temperature fluctuations. The low density allows for easier handling and application.
