Heraeus sells Noblelight

The Heraeus Group has signed a definitive agreement to sell its specialty lighting business Heraeus Noblelight to US-based Excelitas Technologies Corp. of Waltham, Massachusetts. Excelitas Technologies will acquire 100 percent of the shares in Heraeus Noblelight.

Heraeus Noblelight is one of the global market and technology leaders for specialty light sources in the wavelength range from ultraviolet to infrared. Heraeus Noblelight is headquartered in Kleinostheim, Germany, and operates production facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, China and Japan, as well as sales units in Europe and parts of Southeast Asia. The company employs approximately 850 people.

"Heraeus Noblelight is a leader in the specialty lighting market and has a strong position in market access, problem-solving expertise and technological breadth. We are convinced that this agreement will further drive Heraeus Noblelight's stable growth path of recent years," said Jan Rinnert, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Heraeus Group. The sale is expected to close by the end of 2023, subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of required regulatory approvals.
