However, since water evaporates more slowly than solvents, convection ovens are no longer sufficient for drying. If the drying distance remains the same, the throughput speed must be reduced. Extending the hot-air drying section is not always possible, if only for reasons of space. Here, the use of infrared heating technology offers an alternative.
Heraeus Noblelight offers infrared emitters that are matched to the drying of water-based paints. Medium-wave infrared radiation precisely matches the absorption properties of water. It is absorbed particularly well by water and converted directly into heat. By selecting the right emitters, paint or stain is dried in a targeted manner while the plant and environment remain cooler.
