Hengst Filtration closed 2022 with record group-wide sales of 655 million euros. This is an increase of 13 percent over the previous year and corresponds to a doubling within five years. The backbone of growth was primarily business in the independent aftermarket, the company reports. Here, sales exceeded 200 million euros for the first time. However, all business areas and regions except China (corona-related) performed well, it says. There was a strong increase in industrial and environmental applications. "War, inflation, transformation: we were all anxious to see how 2022 would go for us. The fact that we were ultimately able to post this result is a great success by all," says CEO Christopher Heine.
The M&A strategy was continued and at the same time drove the transformation from automotive supplier to filtration specialist. The acquisition of the Brazilian company Linter Filtros Industriais was the first outside Europe and the third in the industrial air filtration sector. With the opening of sales offices in Warsaw and Sydney, Hengst is now represented on five continents. The production preparations for medical technology and the investments in the Filtration TechCenter (both at the main site in Münster) also clearly demonstrate the change.
