Panacol and Hönle UV Technology have developed turnkey solutions consisting of multifunctional adhesives and UV curing units. Target applications can be found in photovoltaics and flexible electronics.

Panacol's new UV and UV LED curing adhesives for the lamination of barrier films offer greater resistance to environmental stresses. They are also compatible with the PV material and have a low WVTR (Water Vapor Transmission Rate). As these adhesives cure quickly under UV light, they are particularly suitable for high throughput processes, including roll-to-roll processes. Adhesive requirements, such as flow properties, can be modified to precisely match the application process.

Flexible UV adhesives

Panacol's flexible and bendable UV adhesives can also be easily cured with high-intensity UV and/or UV LED curing systems from Hönle. The UV systems are matched to the wavelengths of the Panacol photoinitiators. The options range from spot units with a diameter of 3 mm to linear LED arrays with a length of over one meter, making them the right choice for smaller and larger irradiation areas.

Conductive adhesives

Panacol's new conductive adhesives can efficiently bond flexible resistors and create flexible electrical connections in solar cells, touch sensors and wearable devices. They include a one-component, silver-filled conductive adhesive that bonds very well to plastics, including polyimide, PC, PVC, ABS and FR4 sheet.
