Jens Lieser from Lieser Rechtsanwälte has succeeded in finding a buyer for the automotive supplier Fischer Oberflächentechnologie GmbH, based in Katzenelnbogen in the Rhein-Lahn district. The strategic investor comes from Switzerland and does not wish to be named. The buyer has founded a new subsidiary. This will continue to operate the automotive supplier under the name DKS Surface GmbH. The headquarters of the automotive supplier will remain the same.
Expanding the market position
The investor specializes in the acquisition and development of medium-sized companies, particularly in the plastics processing sector. There have already been similar takeovers in the past. It is consistently expanding its market position in this sector. The creditors' committee approved the purchase agreement on 20.03.2024. The parties involved agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The purchase agreement took effect on 01.04.2024.
Hoping to generate synergies
The former Fischer Oberflächentechnologie specializes in high-quality chrome design products. The company has many years of experience and expertise in this field. The investor hopes to achieve considerable synergies in the market through the acquisition.
Causes behind the insolvency
Increased raw material and energy prices had hit the automotive supplier hard. The energy required for the production of plastic parts using the injection moulding process and for electroplating is particularly high. The company made a loss and had to file for insolvency.

The insolvency administrator and the management informed the workforce about the continuation of operations at a works meeting. "I am delighted that we have succeeded in finding a viable and sustainable solution for the company's future despite the difficult market environment," says insolvency administrator Jens Lieser. The preservation of numerous jobs and the continuation of the automotive supplier in a structurally weak region is crucial for the local people.
