The ThermaCote acrylic resin solution contains 80 percent microscopic ceramic platelets which, after application by means of a high-pressure compressor (150 bar) and subsequent drying, lie one on top of the other like scales and insulate the heat transfer. The layer, which is only 0.5 millimeters thick depending on its thickness, does not weigh much and can also be applied to hard-to-reach areas or small objects.
The temperatures of the surfaces to be coated can be as high as 145 °C, so there is usually no need to interrupt the process for application. After just a few hours of drying, ThermaCote becomes a permanently highly effective thermal insulation that also seals small cracks and protects against corrosion. ThermaCote is robust and withstands rough and changing environmental conditions for many years. This is also backed up by the ten-year manufacturer's warranty.
