Whether on a conveyor belt or driverless transport system: when sensors need to detect contours, precision and attention to detail count. Leuze is launching two new laser scanner series on the market that master this perfectly. The devices in the ROD 300 series reliably detect contours even in fast production and logistics processes. The ROD 500 series laser scanners are suitable for navigation tasks thanks to their high scanning rates and angular resolution. The integrated window monitoring of the sensors is also an advantage - it detects in good time when the optical window becomes dirty. This enables predictive maintenance and thus contributes to high system availability.
No problem with high-gloss or matt surfaces
Thanks to the frequency of up to 80 Hz, objects in motion can be reliably detected, even at high speeds. With their high angular resolution of 0.025° at 10 Hz, the ROD 500 series laser scanners detect the contour of parts even with high-gloss or matt surfaces. The new laser scanners have a robust design: They have protection class IP 67 and a high-quality aluminum base. The sensors operate in temperature ranges from -30 °C to +60 °C. This makes them suitable for applications in the deep-freeze sector as well as for high-temperature requirements in battery production, for example.
