According to the official announcement, the new location offers the institute excellent infrastructural conditions for the further development of its research in materials and corrosion research as well as chemical engineering with a focus on electrochemical processes.

"We see the move as an investment in the future of our research and the research location of Hesse," says Mathias Galetz, Director of the DECHEMA Research Institute. "At the new location, we are creating the conditions to decisively develop our work in the field of sustainable material technologies, energy storage and climate-friendly processes - with the aim of continuing to be one of the drivers of innovation in Hesse in the coming decades through networking between industry and research."
