From 1 January 2025, Dr. Wolfram Stichert, hte GmbH in Heidelberg, will take over as Chairman of the DECHEMA Executive Board. The position of Treasurer will be held by Prof. Thomas Hirth from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT in the new year. Other new members of the Board of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology are Prof. Sonja Berensmeier (Technical University of Munich), Dr. Ralph Kleinschmidt (Thyssenkrupp Uhde, Dortmund), Dr. André Overmeyer (Merck, Darmstadt), Dr. Andrea Traube (KyooBe Tech GmbH, Leinfelden-Echterdingen) and Dr. Andreas Widl (SAMSON AG, Frankfurt am Main). They were unanimously elected to the committee by the General Assembly at the end of November 2024 and will strengthen the DECHEMA Executive Board from January 2025.
Elected for three years
The members of the DECHEMA Executive Board are each elected for three years and represent the most important areas of DECHEMA in the groups "Apparatus and Plant Engineering", "Science" and "Chemical Industry/Biotechnology". Prof. Maximilian Fleischer (Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG, Munich) was re-elected.
