The line processes components from ten component families with around 240 material numbers and unit weights of one to twelve kilograms; the batch sizes vary greatly. The seven processing machines in the line are interlinked, and precision machining is fully automated - accordingly, cleaning should also be performed in cycle and automatically. Nine different workpiece carriers, which were adapted to the weights and geometries of the components, already ensured feeding and transport. To ensure that each product family now also receives its own individual cleaning program, part-specific cleaning programs were created. After online training, this could be done quickly and easily. Integration of the cleaning system was successful because, like the machine tools, it has a CAD/CAM interface - this meant that the CAD data of the products could also be used for programming the cleaning programs. A highlight of the new system: a high-pressure deburring module for targeted cleaning of the bores. This is because the cleaning process is preceded by a honing or deburring process. Deburring is performed at a workpiece-specific pressure of up to 600 bar.
