Axalta Coating Systems, a global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, has announced its Automotive Color of the Year 2024. For the first time, it is a shade of black.
Cosmic and classic at the same time
"Black is the second most popular car color in the world. We are therefore delighted to present a shade of black as our car color of the year 2024," says Dan Benton, Senior Manager Global Color at Axalta. "The Starry Night shade makes the black glow and the dark appear classy. This year's car color is part cosmic and part classic."
Ten years of "car color of the year"
Axalta first presented its car color of the year in 2015 with "Radiant Red". Since then, the company's global team of color experts has worked together every year to develop a trend color for the automotive industry.
