Paint manufacturer Mankiewicz will be focusing on anti-glare coatings at this year's PaintExpo in Karlsruhe. They can be used to create various levels of glare-free surfaces.

Being able to focus correctly and see clearly is not only essential for people. It is also a must for optical devices, which are increasingly finding their way into various areas of life. From microscopes to autonomous driving, they are an important component of an automated world. For cameras and assistance systems to function smoothly and accurately, their housings must be free of stray light. With its anti-glare coating portfolio, Mankiewicz offers various levels of glare-free surfaces - depending on the requirements and intended use. The two objects on display at the trade fair stand - one anti-glare, the other classically coated - illustrate the effect of the many ways in which paint can influence the degree of reflection.

Chrome-look chrome surfaces

Further innovations from the manufacturer at the trade fair relate to sustainable chrome-look surfaces. According to Mankiewicz, this type of chrome surface is in demand as a timeless design element in many areas of application. As a high-quality and elegant alternative to environmentally harmful chrome plating, chrome replacement coatings also score points with their variety of colors. The costly and toxic chromating process is replaced by an efficient and safe painting process using standard equipment, which reduces process costs.
