This is because more than 60 percent of common color mixtures are metallic mixtures, which can affect signal transmission. Manufacturers of paints, inks and coatings must therefore develop mixing formulations that do not impair the signal strength of the radar signal. Akzo Nobel has done this and tested the new color mixing formulations in close cooperation with OEMs.
